awesome

this movie really knocks me out, meaning it makes me enter an overwhelming state of peace. the song is purely beautiful and i might be the only one in my family who can really connect with the mesmerizing feel to it. but the animation really adds to the song's beauty. the song knocks you out, but the animation keeps you going. thank you for making this. you should make an ipod version of it so i can watch it repeatedly on those long road trips and feel peace the entire time. you are a talented artist, a great composer, and a magnificent storyteller. Kudos.

AKS9 responds:

JPistol thanks so much for your amazing review... reading this stuff is really touching. I can't believe it, it's like this stuff actually means something to people. This had a real-world effect, somewhere out there. I think overwhelming states of peace are very personal and you can't just pass the things that cause them to other people or family members like that...
There is an mp3 you can download of the song here on newgrounds, there's a link to the left of the movie description. The song is only 1:40m so I guess it won't serve you on your road-trips. I can make a custom version for you where after the intro the main song loops for 30 minutes :D
Thanks so much for your words. All the best!

moves very smoothly

This is a very thought-provoking and nostalgic flash. By thought-provoking, I mean you never are sure where the mug is going to end up next, but wherever it is, once you become absorbed within the tone and style of the video, you know it'll be interesting. By nostalgic, I mean how it's claustrophobic soundtrack and stare-worthy environments almost make you feel a longing sensation. I can't explain it really, except with this: I get that feeling when I look at the poster of the big house on a hill with a garage with 5 really nice cars in it that has the headline, "Justification for higher education" across the top. It's not the slogan that really draws me in, nor is it the nice house or the nice cars. In fact, it's the sunset in the background. The whole, "Justification for higher education" thing is the only part of the picture that really turns me off, but the overall landscape and content in the picture make it my favorite photographic image. That's like this flash. To describe it more thoroughly, it's like an escape cartoon. Everything in this flash is so incredibly fascinating in it's own individual way and I'm glad this submission got front page. I always love flashes with smooth music synced in the background. You definitely have some magnificent talent. Don't stop doing what you do best.

Butzbo responds:

hurhm, that's like the 'heavy' review i was looking for ;) , thanks!!

nice, very inventive

i must say i really enjoyed this flash, sir. the beginning was fine for a start, and the middle was delightfully creepy, and it eventually built up to an ending that may be disappointing to the grim and soulless, but as for the rest of us normal human beings with nostalgic memories of fear exhibited by the main character, wrapped up very nicely. my one concern is that it didn't have much to do with christmas, except when you flashed "Merry Christmas" in the ending credits, but that doesn't belittle this fine submission in any way.

Twist responds:

Actually, the reason I had his paranoia brought on by heat was because I wanted the end to be a surprise. The water he gets is a christmas present, you can even see a tree behind him when he gets it.

one of the only actually funny flashes on NG

this is superb, man. you took a simple concept, added two very likeable characters, and normal human conversation, like real shit, and you made a great fucking piece of art. the other thing about this flash that i like is that there aren't any forced laughs. all the humor comes naturally, and it makes you laugh. unlike most of the time wasting shit on the front page, this flash is something special. it's fucking real and it's funny as hell.

sexysexybicycle responds:

Thanks a lot man! Those are some nice things to say. I'm tearing up like your avatar.

pretty funny

was this adlibbed? cause its still great even if it wasnt. i could never go this far and funny with improv. but i like your style, man. nice.

sirjeffofshort responds:

Yeah, Bill and I have actually been doing improv together for as long as I care to remember so we've had plenty of practice. The rest of our actors ain't too shabby either but you'll have to wait for future episodes to check them out, sorry.

Thanks for the review.

great animation

that was great! fuck this conservative asswipe below me. this was a fantastic escape flash. theres a lot of others like it but the fact that you challenged the viewer's visuality by morphing from image to image so very quickly and artistically like that makes this flash extraordinary. good job, all of you.

TheBoogley responds:

There's a new genre, Escape flash! I like it! :D

EXCELLENT

I gotta tell you, man. When I saw a new Rats On Cocaine episode on the front page, I almost cried. This show is so fucking awesome, man. Everything that I find funny is always included in your animations and they're all incredible. Bravo, man. Excellent fucking job.

ApocalypseCartoons responds:

aw, thanks. even your avatar is crying.

nice character development in this ep

As you know, I'm a big fan of the Angry Dog series and this episode was no exception to the greatness of the rest of the episodes. What I liked about this one especially was the character development that the other episodes lacked in a way. In this one, we go farther into George's depression and it even stretches to his unluckiness in the scoring ladies department. He's like me in a way in that he's formed an opinion in his mind that he's a pretty decent dude but not quite decent enough to get with anyone of the opposite sex. Kevin is like the guy who assumes everything's gonna be handed to him, including womanly affection, because he's built but he still tries to attract women the way the hopeless do: karaoke singing. And everyone knows that is the shittiest way to entice others. Terry's character is simple, a lonely soul with low self-esteem and a dark past. The cat just pissed me off because of how prissy she was and Herb is my favorite character because he's suave and cool no matter what he does. You did an excellent job on this episode, man. I especially liked the song George sang. Pretty much summed everything up about the dating game.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks v much! this episode definitely represents my feelings on some aspects of the dating game, what it doesn't say is that you won't find the nicest girls in places like that at all, if you go expect to find girls like the cat (though not that bad hopefully)

I LOVE THIS SHOW

this is what NewGrounds is all about, man. original, well-thought out, well-scripted, and well-animated cartoons and this is one of them. i must've seen this episode about 5 times already, both on aniboom and NG, and i gotta say that you have a fantastic talent, man. this is one of my favorite newgrounds series and i can't wait for the episodes to come!

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks! 5 times!? Wow!

i like it a lot

you have very likeable characters in this show...like Angry Dog for instance and his roommate has a lot of funny potential as well. the part with the bear freaking out before he stabbed himself made me laugh and the rest of the episode was very witty and i like how you didnt need to use disgusting and vulgar content to get your laughs (i'm not against that stuff though, my writing is extremely vulgar...basically its just cock and tits and vagina jokes and language but i'm a vulgar person so it's ok) one thing just confused me about the ending...angry dog's roommate smelled blood on him, so was he about to rape him? thats what i interpreted it as, correct me if i'm wrong. but you definitely have something here. i don't see why so many people keep giving it low scores. the animation alone is a treat to watch. kudos on the great job, man.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

thanks! although its not explained, the idea behind terry attacking george was that he thought he was a wounded competitor. I don't know if bears would actually attack each other without a female around so its probably not factually accurate...but I thought I wouldn't let that stop me!

I live for the little guys in my mind
